"Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass." Joshua 21:45
God does not go back on His word. If He has promised, He will fulfill that promise. The sad thing about the verse above is that the Israelites who came out of Egypt didn't believe God. They doubted and grumbled. They didn't inherit the promise but their children did. Only two saw the promise fulfilled: Caleb and Joshua.
"For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you shall prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess." Deuteronomy 32:47
The verse is talking about God's word, God's command. By God's word we will prolong our own days in the land where God has put us. What is God's will for your life? To produce fruit where you live.
"So take diligent heed to yourselves to love the LORD your God." Joshua 23:11
God is the same yesterday, today and forever (actually the verse that thought is from is found in Hebrews 13 and says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever). We can choose to Love GOD with all of ourselves. If we don't choose this we won't do it. The world in which we live will not encourage us to love God. Our circumstances will not usually encourage us to love God. We have to choose within our hearts to make this decision. And when we do it is the best decision we will ever make. And we can choose to do this every day.
"And Joshua said to all the people, 'Be hold, this stone shall be for a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the LORD which He spoke to us; thus it shall be for a witness against you, lest you deny your God.'" Joshua 24:27
That one I just found very interesting. Think about that. Rocks can hear.....Someone is alway listening and watching.
